Comprehensive Medical-Legal Expert Services

Dr. Ron Avraham provides court-defensible expert witness services for personal injury, workers' compensation, medical malpractice, and disability cases throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, and nationwide. With double board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine, combined with ICHCC Life Care Planning and ABIME Independent Medical Examination certifications, Dr. Avraham delivers credible, thorough expert opinions backed by active clinical practice. 

Independent Medical Examinations (IME)

Independent Medical Examinations (IME)

Comprehensive, objective medical evaluations for personal injury, workers' compensation, disability, and medical malpractice cases. Each IME includes a thorough record review, complete physical examination, and detailed written report addressing all relevant medical-legal questions.


What's included:

Specialties: spinal injuries and chronic back/neck pain; traumatic brain injury; orthopedic trauma; nerve injuries and neuropathic pain; complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS); post-surgical complications; functional restoration and disability evaluation and more.


Timeline: Reports typically delivered within 2–3 weeks of examination date. Rush services available.

Fees: $550/hour · $2,000 retainer (applied to final invoice) · $650 no-show/late-cancellation fee (less than 48 hours notice).

Life Care Planning

Life Care Planning

Court-defensible, comprehensive life care plans for catastrophic and non-catastrophic injuries. Dr. Avraham is a Certified Life Care Planner through the International Commission on Health Care Certification (ICHCC) and follows the methodology advocated by the American Academy of Physician Life Care Planners.


What's included:

  • In-person client evaluation
  • Consultations with treating physicians and medical providers
  • Medical equipment and supply projections
  • Medication cost analysis
  • Future surgical and procedural needs
  • Therapy requirements (PT, OT, speech, psychological)
  • Home and vehicle modification assessments
  • Attendant and custodial care projections
  • Comprehensive cost analysis with present-value calculations
  • Detailed written report (typically 30–100+ pages)
  • Expert testimony support for depositions and trial


Case types: traumatic brain injury; spinal cord injury; amputation; severe orthopedic injuries; stroke and neurological conditions; chronic pain syndromes; musculoskeletal injuries; multi-system trauma.


Timeline: Typically completed within 4 - 6 weeks.


Fees: Non-catastrophic life care plan $6,000 flat · Catastrophic life care plan $9,000 flat. 

· Additional fee may apply for exceptionally large record volume (>3,000 pages).

Deposition & Trial Testimony

Dr. Avraham provides deposition and trial testimony in personal injury, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, and disability litigation. His testimony is clear, well-prepared, and grounded in active clinical practice — the combination that holds up under rigorous cross-examination. Attorneys retain Dr. Avraham not only for the strength of his written reports but for his composure and credibility on the stand.


Thorough preparation as standard: Every deposition and trial engagement includes dedicated preparation time. 


Payment terms: Advance payment equal to scheduled time required prior to deposition or trial testimony. Preparation hours are billed separately at the rates above. Cancellation policy applies (see fee schedule).

Detailed medical records review and expert opinion reports for case evaluation, pre-litigation assessment, or rebuttal of opposing expert opinions.


Services: medical records review and summary; causation analysis; standard of care evaluation; rebuttal reports; case merit assessment; treatment plan review.


Fees: $550/hour with $2,000 retainer.
